Therapy For Teens
For teens who feel a little different, and the parents who want them to have someone in their corner.
Virtual therapy for teens 13–17 throughout Texas, with evening and weekend times.
Maybe you've always felt a little different from everyone else, and books and games feel easier than people. School can be lonely, and sometimes it feels like no one at home really gets you either. Therapy can be a place to talk about what's really going on, at your own pace, with someone who's on your side.
What we can work on
Anxiety and overthinking Worrying about everything, replaying conversations in your head, or feeling on edge and not always knowing why.
Loneliness and friendships Having only a couple of close friends, or none right now. Feeling left out, or like you don't fit in at school.
Feeling like the odd one out at home Family conflict, divorce, or just feeling like the people at home don't really know or accept you.
Figuring out who you are Identity, including LGBTQ+ teens and teens who are still figuring it out. You don't need a label to start.
Self-esteem and being "too sensitive" Not liking yourself very much, or being told you feel things too much when what you needed was for people to be kinder.
School and stress Pressure, grades, big changes, or feeling like you're falling behind.
We can start with the stories you love
A lot of teens find it easier to talk about a character than about themselves, at least at first. If you're into books, games, anime, fanfic, or a show you've rewatched more times than you can count, you can bring that into sessions. You don't have to explain why it matters or worry that it sounds silly. Sometimes the stories we keep coming back to say a lot about what we need.
For parents & guardians
Sessions are one-on-one, so your teen has a space that's their own. I check in with you once a month to share how things are going overall, and you're always welcome to reach out in between.
What your teen shares stays private unless there's a safety concern, and if there is, I'll let you know. That privacy is often what helps teens open up, and it's something we'll go over together before we start.
You don't need to have the right words to explain what's going on. If you've noticed your teen pulling away, struggling with friends, or seeming more anxious or down than usual, that's enough to reach out.
Groups for Teens
Starting Summer 2027, I'm offering small virtual groups for teens, including a D&D social skills group and Fandom & Friends, a group for teens who love books, shows, games, and anime.
Start with a Conversation
A free 15-minute consultation is a chance for you or your parent to ask questions and see if we'd be a good fit. Most of the time a parent reaches out first, and that's completely fine.
